Our History & Mission
In 1992 David McGovern set up as a sole trader and started his professional career as an electrical contractor. In just a couple of years the business had grown substantially and DMG Electrical Contractors Ltd was formed. Nearly thirty years on and DMG Electrical is one of Ireland’s leading electrical contractors, trusted by hundreds of customers throughout Ireland.
Our mission is simple. We want to be known as an honest and trustworthy electrical contractor that offers a professional solution to businesses and home owners. We take pride in our work and enjoy working with clients from all business types and backgrounds to deliver their electrical, lighting, safety and data needs. We ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standards and compliant with all relevant regulation. We always offer clear and transparent advice and are there to help our customers. We strive to ensure that DMG Electrical is always at the forefront of technological advances and modern solutions so that we can provide the best results for our customers. Founded in 1992, DMG Electrical has become one of the most trusted and professional electrical contractors in Ireland. We have worked in every type of industry including food manufacturing, hotel installations and maintenance, warehousing, pharmaceutical, retail as well as serving a whole host of domestic customers.
All DMG staff are highly trained and undergo rigorous ongoing performance development. All staff members have Safe Pass cards and Hoist Tickets. As a company, we are registered with both Safe Electric and the Register of Electrical Contractors Ireland (RECI).

Meet The Team
Over the years DMG Electrical has grown. We’ve been blessed to work with some amazing team members. Not only are they brilliant professionals, but more importantly they are amazing people. Now, as part of the DMG family, our team are work colleagues, great friends and the heart of the business. Some of the faces you will meet are:
David McGovern
David is the Founder and Managing Director of the business. Professionally, he started as a Sole Trader in 1992. A few years later he expanded and set up DMG Electrical Contractors Ltd. Outside of work, David is a family man who enjoys the outdoor life.
Ivan Corbett
Ivan joined DMG Electrical in 2016, having fully qualified 10 years earlier. He is extremely experienced in all sectors of the industry. A native of Drum, Athlone, Ivan is an avid Connacht Rugby Supporter.
Donal Cloonan
Donal joined our team in 2020, after relocating back from Dublin, where he gained experience in managing large sites. Outside of work, Donal has a keen interest in swimming and rugby.
Mark Duffy
Mark started his Apprenticeship with the Company in 2018 and immediately became an invaluable member of the team despite being a Man City Supporter!… We’re sorry nobody’s perfect.
